Whenever you hear the name, Ringo Starr, you automatically think of The Beatles. The Beatles is an English rock band that became a huge hit in the 1960’s. They took over America with their hit songs such as “Love Me Do” and “Let It Be” even though they’re originally from England. Fans of all ages fell in love with their songs, but young girls were especially obsessed with them. Their fame grew so much that it became known as “Beatlemania.”

Even though the band broke up in 1970, their songs have lasted years later and the band members (who are alive) are still very famous. Besides Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr is the only other band member who is still here. The sales from all of the songs he created with The Beatles definitely helped him grow his net worth to $350 million, but that’s not the only reason why he’s so wealthy.

10 He Started Making Successful Music In The 1960s
Ringo first joined The Beatles in 1962 and the band gained huge success two years after that. According to Wealthy Genius, “In 1964, after the successful release of their hit single, ‘Please Please Me,’ the Beatles went to America to take it by storm, releasing one hit after another. Beatlemania was by then firmly entrenched, their performances thronged by millions of lovestruck teenagers.” It’s no wonder why Ringo is worth so much money since he’s been selling music for decades.
9 He's Starred In Movies
Along with selling tons of records, Ringo also starred in movies in the 1960’s with other members of the band. According to Wealthy Genius, “That same year [in 1964], the Beatles made their first film, A Hard Day’s Night, was a humorous documentary that got its name from the peculiar turn of phrase that Starr often, by mistake, used. This was followed by Act Naturally which Starr provided the vocals for. After The Beatles broke up, Ringo couldn’t just stop creating music. He kept making music on his own and took part in a few other projects at the same time. He embarked on a solo career, releasing albums, taking roles in film projects, and collaborating with Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison, individually on different songs and projects.”

7 He Worked With Members Of The Beatles Sometimes
Ringo got together with some of the former band members years after they split up and they worked on a few projects together. According to Wealthy Genius, “In 1973, Ringo and Harrison co-wrote the hit, 'It Don’t Come Easy.' In the early 90s, Ringo got back together with McCartney and Harrison to release Free Bird, the first Beatles single since 1970. They also worked on the Beatles Anthology, which resulted in a miniseries of interviews with the remaining trio about their time together as the Beatles. A CD project was also developed as a result.”
6 He’s Worked On More Projects Than The Other Beatles Members
Ringo has made more music and finished more projects than all of the other Beatles members. According to Wealthy Genius, “Since leaving the Beatles, Ringo has released 20 studio albums, starred in over 15 films and television programs, and written 3 books. Such was the prodigious output of Starr that, perhaps, he became more famous since the Beatles.” All of these projects helped him gain even more success and money.

About twenty years after the success of The Beatles, Ringo started a new band called Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band. The band has been performing and touring since 1989 with new members every few years. Although the band members have changed over the years, Ringo is the only one who will always be a part of it. Every time Ringo performed with his All Starr Band he made a few hundred thousand dollars. According to Nicki Swift, “Just like fellow Beatle Paul McCartney, Starr can't leave music behind and seemingly can't stop touring, despite being in his late 70’s. Forbes reported in 2013 that looking at his recent touring history, Starr was earning about $300,000 per show, which has no doubt increased since then.” The band has performed in shows for decades, so he has made millions of dollars from it.

3 He’s Still Releasing New Music
Even though Ringo’s 80-years-old, he’s still creating and releasing music. According to Nicki Swift, “Starr, who, as of this writing, has three children, multiple grandchildren and a great-grandchild—released his 20th studio album, What's My Name, in October 2019. He has continued to tour with his band, Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band, which has gone through several iterations since forming in the 1980s.” He also just released a new EP called Zoom In a few months ago in March.
2 His Properties Are Worth Millions
Ringo owns a couple properties with his wife right now, but he might be selling them, which would give him even more millions of dollars. According to Nicki Swift, “He and his wife, Barbara Bach—who he wed in 1981—owned homes in Snowmass, Colo. and Surrey, England, but the Los Angeles Times reported in 2014 that Starr was planning to firmly settle in the ‘Los Angeles area’ and was selling the Colorado and Surrey homes. While the value of the homes was not disclosed, the Los Angeles Times reported that the Surrey home was ‘estimated at 15 million to 20 million pounds—about $23.5 million to $31 million,’ and the last sale of the Colorado property in 1991 was just over $1 million.”
1 He Makes The Most Money From The Old Beatles Songs
Although he’s made millions with his new band, Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band, he makes even more from the songs he recorded years ago with The Beatles. According to Nicki Swift, “In 2013, Forbes reported that each of The Beatles was still raking in millions—despite Lennon and Harrison having passed away—thanks to continued sales of Beatles albums, usage of their music in various projects, and even from the Cirque du Soleil show,Love!, which features a full set of Beatles songs.” Since so many people know and love the classic Beatles songs, they will always be his main source of income and the reason why he’s the wealthiest drummer in the world.
