House Sale Prices and Valuation Estimates (2024)

Throughout England and Wales the average house sale price in May 2022 was £351,877. This is a £5,231 increase (1.5%) on the average sale price from the previous month and a £27,628 (8.5%) increase since last year. Semi-Detached properties performed best with an average monthly percentage gain in May 2022 of 3.3%. The total number of sales in May 2022 was 30,415 - a decrease of 52.8% in the past year.

The region showing the strongest monthly gain in average sale prices is Rutland with a £72,488 increase (24.9%) from April 2022 to May 2022. The poorest performer is Isle of Anglesey showing a £55,432 decrease (-20.5%) over the same time period (see important note).
